Established in 2010, Conture is a product design studio that focuses on developing concrete materials. The studio consists of a group of researchers and makers that transform concepts into objects through science and design.

Through experiment and experience, Conture creates new material combinations and designs to surpass the realms of boundaries using concrete based products. The studio has helped many artists, designers and architects in building their projects, especially when it is built in outdoor areas. The types of projects the studio works on are very diverse, from retail, residential, office & commercial areas, with various products output.

Concrete is always the choice because the material is relatively durable and rarely requires maintenance. For end users, Conture also helps them in making houseware & decorative products which are of course durable and minimal maintenance, such as pots, trays, amenities, phonedock, & furniture for home needs.

Sunset Park Bench – Circularity in Built Environment Industry

As a society, we’re becoming more aware of the impact our actions have on the environment. The construction industry is one of the biggest contributors to global pollution, and we know that we need to find more sustainable ways of building if we want to protect our planet.

That’s why we’re so excited to announce Parongpong latest project – a collaboration with Conture for Desa Potato Head in Sunset Park. Our goal was to create something beautiful, functional, and sustainable, all at the same time.

The result is a 31 m super bench made from 40% low value waste. Using 600 kg material treated using a hydrothermal process, we’ve created a unique piece of furniture that’s as eco-friendly as it is eye-catching.

But this project is about more than just creating a beautiful bench. It’s about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sustainable architecture. It’s about showing the world that there are better ways to build, and that we can create functional, aesthetically pleasing designs while still respecting the environment.

We hope that this project inspires others in the industry to take a closer look at their own practices and find ways to reduce their impact on the planet. We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference and create a better future for all. Join us in our mission to revolutionize sustainable design!
