Zero Waste Hacks: DIY Coffee Scrub

Coffee-Scrub-00.jpg

A simple DIY coffee scrub that stimulates from the outside-in. This natural body scrub will make your skin glow and the Earth smile. And you only need three ingredients to make it.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

There are so many benefits to regular scrubbing – it pumps new life into the skin. One of the main reasons we use body scrubs is to remove dead skin cells through exfoliation, leaving it smooth, rejuvenated and glowy. Coffee scrubs, however, provide not only an exterior sparkle, but also stimulate circulation and help drain the lymph nodes by increasing blood flow to the skin’s surface. Coffee also contains anti-inflammatory properties, and the caffeine not only wakes us up, but helps extract excess fluid for firmer skin.

We love this DIY scrub because it’s completely natural, gentle on the planet and super-easy to make at home – all you need is ground coffee, brown sugar, coconut oil and you’re good to go.

Our easy eco-friendly coffee scrub:

Method

  1. Mix together 1/2 cup fresh ground coffee and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
  2. Add 1/2 cup coconut oil into the coffee mixture
  3. Mix until well combined

Notes Gently rub mixture over your body, avoiding areas around the eyes. Leave it on for several minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
