2023 is nearing its end, and the time to celebrate is almost upon us. Honouring the transition into 2024, we’ve assembled an eclectic cast of musical protagonists to bring their nuanced sounds to Desa Potato Head.
Revered selectors Palms Trax, Shanti Celeste, Kamma & Masalo, and Omoloko are drafted to set the NYE mood, playing from daytime until deep into the night alongside a selection of friends and local favourites. As ever, our Beach Club will provide the oceanside setting, with a full stage and extended dancefloor playing host to far-reaching music from a diverse lineup.
Join us as we usher in the New Year on the Seminyak shores while expansive sounds and styles echo across the Desa dancefloor – from deep house to Motor City techno, global disco to broken rhythms, and much more in between.

Palms Trax
Berlin-based British producer and DJ Palms Trax has been operating at the dance music’s vanguard for over a decade. He showcases his inspired selections via a worldwide touring schedule and his long-running NTS Radio show, while his acclaimed releases on Dekmantel, Lobster Theremin and his own CWPT label have won him praise from all corners of the deep house spectrum.
Kamma & Masalo
Amsterdam-based double act and Rush Hour alumni Kamma & Masalo have been making waves with their expansive DJ sets in recent years – both at their iconic Brighter Days events and at global events and festivals. Eclectically-minded and adventurous, the pair expertly thread disparate sonic textures into powerfully coherent and floor-focused sets.
Omoloko
Omoloko is part of the new wave of artists leading the Brazilian scene from the front. His colourful 101Ø party in Belo Horizonte is one the most exciting in the country, while his musical selections are infused with the myriad of niche scenes and sounds you would hear when navigating Brazil – from disco to global groove, techno to broken beat.
Gero
Endowed with an eclectic touch that defines his genre-gliding sets, Gero is blessed with the ability to take listeners on an immersive musical journey. Whether soundtracking a mesmerising sunset or an evolving sunrise, he shapes captivating sets perfectly pitched to his surroundings.
Marvel
Having begun his musical journey via the Jakarta-based Anja project back in 2017, Marvel’s reputation for crafting immersive, floor-friendly grooves has been steadily growing. His sets are shaped by a profound love of disco, house, funk, fusion – and everything in between.
Kenya
Born into a musical family, Kenya Bahana Sastropawiro, AKA Kenya, has been surrounded by rhythmical instruments since childhood. Her selections incorporate pulsing rhythms and chugging bass augmented by celestial melodies, and her tightly woven sounds can be heard via regular appearances on Paddygrooves Radio, Dekadenz, PRMTVO, NTS Radio, HKCR, and Mojo Radio.
Shanti Celeste
Shanti Celeste has won international acclaim for her contemporary, UK-informed take on the classic Motor City sound. The expansive visions of the early techno pioneers are reflected in Celeste's open take on her craft, while her emotion-rich productions on the likes of Dekmantel, Apron, Future Times, and her own Peach Discs imprint have helped amplify her unique creative message.
Nemo
Nemo Ripoll is best known for being half of the Nemo and Castro duo alongside partner in crime, Castro Moore. The duo are the driving force behind Berlin’s Sound Metaphors record store and label project and are renowned party-starters thanks to their H.A.N.D. events. Here, Nemo makes a rare solo appearance, bringing his cultured sound and years-long digging credentials to the Desa Dancefloor.
