Jamu (meaning ‘herb’) is an ancient herbal elixir that is central to the culture of Indonesian people and its promotion of health and livelihood. The knowledge pertaining to the types of herbal ingredients and the techniques of jamu brewing are considered sacred by many, handed down between generations and often never documented.
