walk with purpose: wasted collective

Tackling waste while connecting people, communities and nature — Wasted Collective launch recycled Earth Shoes and Wasted Collective Walking Club.

Continuing our ongoing efforts to rejuvenate Bali, Wasted Collective is launching a pair of initiatives centred around the ritual of movement — celebrating walking culture to help connect beings with themselves, the wider community, and the Earth as we do our bit to clean up the Island.

Earth Shoes are crafted from 90% recycled industrial materials and designed to get you up on your feet and out into nature. Inspired by Bali’s powerful contrasts, the shoes are made in Volcanic Black and White Sand colours, emphasising the dark and the light, pitching sharp volcanic rock against a fluid sea, the heat of the day with the cool of the night. The trainers will be launched globally at the end of March and will be available at Escalier in Potato Head Bali from March 31.

Taking things a few steps further, from April our Walking Club will commence with two walks aimed at connecting us with the local community and ourselves as we stroll through nature clearing up the rubbish we find along the way. The Trail of Reconnection will start on the beach before taking an easy, flat terrain walk to discover hidden gems of the Seminyak community, while the Restorative Green Walk joins forces with the Astungkara Way youth project to explore the farming oasis of Subak Uma Lambing, taking in meditative yoga sessions and freshly harvested lunch along the way.

Simply put, Wasted Collective is reimagining what waste material could be and walking together towards a shared mission: to connect us to the act of walking and to promote the regeneration of the island.
