This year, he’s celebrating ten years of hosting a weekly mixshow on The Lot Radio in Brooklyn and fifteen years of co-running the influential Darker Than Wax record label. Rio, aka Yoyo, is a DJ and producer from East Java with releases on Perspex. After transitioning from session drumming to electronica, he moved to Bali to immerse himself in the island’s vibrant music culture. In recent years, he’s played a key role in Nightspacer, a series of experimental sonic experiences that push boundaries and explore the intersection of sound and space. Yoyo’s style is an eclectic fusion of genres, crafting a vibe that connects mind, body, and soul.
