A hands-on upcycling workshop where HDPE plastic waste into new objects. Guests combine small-scale injection moulds and free form extrusion techniques to create meaningful, sculpted pieces.
We all know plastic is an enormous problem, but what if we could shift the way we see it? Instead of something ruining our planet, what if we could see it as a material waiting for a better idea? Using plastic waste collected from all around Bali and Java, the plastic upcycling workshop is all about exploring a different relationship to a material so often just thrown away. Sort, shred, melt and mold using injection moulding and casting equipment to produce new objects from what was about to be lost.
The Workshop Anchored by a wall of plastic recovered from waste collectors across Bali and Java, this bay is dedicated to experimentation and hands-on making. With live plastic injection and moulding sessions launching in July 2026 and evolving ateliers for scrap textile weaving, biomaterial sculpting, and upcycling to follow in 2027, the workshop teaches us much more than what we can do with our hands.
Kids under 12 years old are not allowed. Kids 12-14 years old need to be accompanied by adult.
