Located just metres away from Potato Head Beach Club, Potato Head Suites is a boutique hotel featuring 58 individually designed suites overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Every facet has been handpicked or handmade to reflect Indonesia’s artistic and cultural heritage. The authentic, handcrafted pieces that fill the hotel’s spaces give it a distinctive look while also supporting the indigenous communities and craftspeople of Indonesia.

Contemporary design elements pay reference to the Balinese lifestyle and lush green gardens reflect the natural beauty of the island. Renowned Indonesian architect and long-time friend of the Potato Head family, Andra Martin has designed Potato Head Suites, with interiors a partnership between the owners and the Singapore-based design company Takenouchi Webb. The hotel is finished with Indonesian materials such as Balinese temple bricks, teak, hand-made tiles from Java and terrazzo made on site.

The hotel is intimate and serene, offering some of the largest living spaces of any hotel in Bali, in each of its categories. The suites are filled with curated artwork, handpicked furniture and cherished collectibles, many of them originally part of the owner’s personal collection. All suites boast outdoor spaces, whether balconies, secluded gardens or individual pools. The Rooftop Suites embody premium luxury and provide the ultimate escape. Measuring 268 sqm, these two-storey suites offer internal access to a rooftop garden complete with stunning ocean views, a spa bath and rain shower and dining and lounge areas, complete with their own bar. The crowning glory of the hotel is the The Katamama Suite, housing two bedrooms and a private rooftop garden with picture perfect ocean views.

Our Suites are an oasis of peace and beauty, not only from the spacious suites—which come with access to the Beach Club and daybeds, gym and spa, plus in-room breakfast at no extra charge, a Zero Waste Kit and Anjat beach set—but the long, lush private pool, exclusive to its own guests. Akademi is the hotel’s experiential award-winning bar pouring curated craft cocktails and also offering workshops, while a new offering for each suite’s in-room bar can personalise it based on the guests’ intentions: wellness reset or party recharge.

With walls of textural temple bricks handmade in an ancient Balinese village and bespoke Jengki teak furniture recalling young Indonesian designers’ rebellious mid-century modern enthusiasm after independence from the Dutch, our Suites are a sanctuary for craftsmanship and artistry in every sense. Each element is imbued with meaning thanks to a fusion of ancient tradition with modern aesthetics. Warmth exudes as much from the custom furnishings, hand-woven, naturally dyed textiles, and intricate local handicrafts as it does our Potato Head family.
